House of the People and Superman

Yippie I finally thought of some somewhat entertaining stuff to post! I don't think I've ever blogged about this before, but my house is dubbed "The House of the People", or HOT-P for short. This came about last year when I was painting the casa last year. I wasn't doing the best job, but wasn't too worried about it because this house doesn't have to be perfect. I want it to be a place that people feel comfortable coming to. The House of the People is named like that partly because so many people have lived there: Addy, John, Christine, Brad, not sure who else... but lots of people have spent the night, and I just love having people in and out. And so many people have random junk there, like just using it as storage space.

Plus a lot of people have been involved with painting and/or other home repairs. I feel that they deserve a shout-out at this time, sorry if I miss any people/reasons:
Andy - the fateful hanging of the IKEA shelves
Vinnie - hanging blinds, helping with the cable
Tim - installing towel racks
Charles - painting the living room / dining room
Eric - painting the baseball room (now veggie bin)
Geoff - painting the baseball room, mowing my lawn
Me - not a whole lot!
Christine - painting the living room / dining room
Gary - moving my cable, fixing my ghetto craigslist free lawnmower
Christie - helping me with my roses
Addy - unpacking the kitchen

See what I'm saying!? I love it!

The other topic I have is that I went to see Superman Returns last night... good movie, although I thought it was a bit slow at points and long, but that might have been because it was almost 3 hours long and it was 10 PM on a Tuesday night to begin with. So this morning I told one of my coworkers that I went to go see it, and he started asking about if it was good for kids. I was like "uhhh....". He asked if it was violent... and I said no, I didn't think so... but it might have been! I (a) don't really pay attention to violence and (b) don't necessarily know what is and isn't appropriate for kids. So I kind of thought back through and described to him a few parts that wouldn't give away the movie. Then he asked me about language, and I realized I had NO CLUE if there had been even one bad word in the movie. Clearly it wasn't excessive, but I don't remember any bad words, but there totally might have been! It's so funny that I don't even notice or pay attention to violence or language because I don't have kids. I told him next time to tell me AHEAD of time if he wants me to review movies for his kids. ;-)

Hey, thanks for the shout out. But, I also ineptly helped install the living room blinds. And made jack-o-lanterns, which are a necessity for any homeowner.
